I have been collecting for 33 years finding pieces from thrift and other stores, donations from clients, some of which were donated to us because they thought it was beyond repair.
My wife does repairs as well as creates many of the accessories including the cobblestone streets, wire and pine trees, fire pits and the snowflake diamond (that kids have to find after being hidden in the village).
On average it takes 4 months to set up and each year we do something a little different so its never the same way twice... this year we added the train set with a new mountainside, a few additional houses, an extra ski hill, dog park, new accessories plus a huge addition in the front hallway.
We hope that you will enjoy this as it is done for the young and young at heart!
Merry Christmas Everyone.
Each year in my home I do up a Miniature Christmas Village. This year, for the second time, Global Calgary came by and did a short story for all to enjoy.
Its only a little over 2 minutes long and does not show the interior of the hallway, living room and dining room, a longer video is coming.
But for now.. please enjoy a little touch of Christmas... Kyle style!
To all those Children who have to spend it in the Children's Hospital, Soldiers and Service Men/Woman and First Responders all around the world who serve their country and wont be in their families loving arms, for all those who have become homeless, to those who have lost loved ones due to disasters and war. To all those who won't be home for Christmas I dedicate this video to you.
A little bit of Christmas magic for all to enjoy, be it young or old I'm hopeful, for just a little bit of time, that this video will bring you a moment of joy.
Thank you for watching
Merry Christmas
I would like to thank Gil Tucker of Global News Calgary for doing this story on our Christmas Village.
I have been working on my miniature Christmas Village for over 30 years, collecting more and more each year. This year I was able to set it up in the living and dinning room, thanks to my wife but she did limit how much of these spaces I could use so not all of my houses are out.
In a few years when I don't want to set this up any more I intend to build display cases to house scenes and donate it to the Children's Hospital / Ronald McDonald house. After all, Christmas is for kids, and those who are ill, unable to spend it at home with family, I want them to see the wonder of what I experience every year and let it take them away ...even if only for a short time.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Every year my wife makes me an ugly sweater...
We find an ugly sweater from the Thrift store and she does she best to make it all the more "outrageous".
But oh my which one do I choose from, I can't decide. So I need your help! Which one should I wear for Christmas Day. Reindeer or Snowman Comment on our YouTube Channel, just click on the button below..
I'll let you know which one I end up with. Thanks!
