In this instructional video, I demonstrate one of the techniques I use to professionally scuff sand a primed side table surface while working around hardware that has already been installed. Proper surface preparation is one of the most important stages in achieving a refined, factory-quality finish, especially when working with high-visibility furniture surfaces.

The scuff sanding process helps eliminate minor imperfections, surface roughness, and texture inconsistencies prior to the final blow-off and topcoat applications. Because this project will receive a clear protective topcoat over the primer layer, careful hand sanding techniques were used rather than an orbital sander to reduce the risk of sanding through the primer and compromising the finish quality.

As shown in the video, the hardware was meticulously masked and protected throughout the preparation process to preserve the surrounding details and ensure a clean, professional result.
