How to Build Professional Edge Stands – Part 2
In Part 2 of this instructional series, I continue demonstrating how to build practical edge stands and explain why they are such a valuable tool for woodworking, finishing, and repair projects. Edge stands are extremely useful for securely holding doors, shelving, full-size passage doors, and many other wood components while sanding, edge taping, staining, repairing, or refinishing.
This simple design can be built using scrap materials commonly found around the home or workshop, making it both cost-effective and highly functional for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike. In this video, I walk through the process step by step so you can confidently build your own set for future projects.
These techniques are straightforward and can often be completed at home with the proper tools and preparation. However, if you feel a repair or finishing project may be beyond your comfort level, we always recommend consulting a qualified wood furniture or wood finishing specialist.
