Refined Fireplace Transformation
The homeowners wanted to refresh and modernize their dated fireplace without committing to a full renovation of the space. Their goal was to update the centrepiece of the room while staying within a thoughtful budget. After consulting with our designer and touch-up specialist, Ann, the decision was made to refinish the fireplace in a sophisticated white solid-colour lacquer, protected with a durable clear topcoat for a refined, timeless finish.
Because solid-colour finishes reveal every imperfection, extensive preparation was essential to achieve the flawless appearance the clients envisioned. Numerous damaged areas were carefully repaired, including rebuilding one damaged edge using professional wood epoxy techniques.
To protect the home throughout the refinishing process, all personal décor was removed, the fireplace and surrounding areas were meticulously paper masked, and the entire room was enclosed with protective poly sheeting. The fireplace was then professionally primed, sanded smooth, sealed, scuff sanded, and finished with multiple coats of premium lacquer and clear topcoat to create a beautifully smooth, factory-quality appearance.
Within 48 hours, the finish had fully cured and the homeowners were able to place their treasured décor back onto the mantle and enjoy their transformed living space once again. The clients were so pleased with the results that we later returned to complete additional refinishing throughout the rest of the home.
