Part way through the restoration of this remarkable 1714 Northwest German cabinet, we wanted to share a glimpse into the beauty that can be revealed through expert craftsmanship and careful restoration. While true antique restoration is an extensive and highly detailed process, preserving these irreplaceable pieces of history is always worthwhile.
This upper section of the cabinet required a full restoration, including the traditional French polishing technique to revive the richness, depth, and elegance of the original finish. Every stage of the work was approached with authenticity in mind, ensuring the restoration remained true to the methods and craftsmanship of the original artisans who created the piece over three centuries ago.
